Pedro Monzón

... replaced fellow defender Oscar Ruggeri (77 caps, 1983–94) at half–time in the 1990 World Cup Final. He lasted ony twenty minutes, being sent off in the 65th.

The match was won by West Germany with an 85th minute penalty, awarded for a foul on on Rudi Völler by Roberto Sensini and scored by Andreas Brehmer.

Earlier in the tournament Monzón had scored his only international goal: the 62nd–minute opener in a 1–1 draw with Romania, in the opening (round robin) round.

Monzón's international career was quite short; born in 1962, he earned 18 caps between 1988 and 1990. One might infer that the World Cup Final was his last appearance for his national side, but I have not been able to confirm this.
